You've heard that expression countless times before I'm sure. So how does it relate to eating the right food for building muscle.
Basically, if you don't prepare in advance what you are going to eat each day and at what time etc, how can you possibly expect your body to grow in the way you want it to?
If you filled your car with the wrong type of fuel, would it perform as it should? Of course not, and your body is no different.
The correct muscle building diets are VITAL to your plans for building great muscles and achieving the physique you've always wanted.
If you are wanting to build muscle, you are going to have to consume the right amount of calories on a daily basis. If you are fairly skinny, the chances are you will not start to notice much muscle gain unless you start eating considerably more! Of the right stuff of course
So what is the right kind of food to include in a muscle gain diet?
Well, in terms of protein, you should be eating lots of fish (such as salmon and shrimp), chicken and lean beef. Steak isn't great for your heart and so should be kept for the odd weekend treat.
For your carbohydrate intake, you should focus on such foods as potatoes, oatmeal, brown rice etc.
You obviously know the importance of taking plenty of fruit and vegetables and you can top these up with cottage cheese and eggs.
You also need to consume some fats believe it or not - but the right kind of fats. You DO NOT want too many saturated fats but rather good fat. You get this from FISH OIL which helps to decrease inflammation, speeds up your metabolism and helps your joints.

There is no doubt that eating properly can be expensive, so I have some tips for you below which should be beneficial especially if you are on a tight budget.
1. Try to do the majority of your grocery shopping at a local discount food store, even if it means having to travel slightly further from your home than usual. 2. Look out for foods on special offer, and if possible buy these items in bulk and freeze them if you have enough space. 3. You CAN improvise and be flexible e.g instead of always buying berries which can be very pricey, you can consume apples and other cheaper fruits. 4. Don't always look for BRAND names. You can make significant savings on non-branded items which are just the same. 5. Try to shop just after you work out so that you will be motivated to buy just the right stuff and not a lot of junk food which will undo your good gym work and waste your hard earned cash.
So,in summary, make sure you plan your nutrition intake in advance. You NEED to eat properly to meet your overall goal of building muscle and a great physique. And remember, it doesn't have to be overly expensive if you follow my cost-saving tips above.
