Many problems can arise though when attempting a muscle weight gain diet. It is certainly true that you need a surplus of calories but let's say 4000 calories is your goal, a healthy weight gain diet at 6000 calories is no more effective than a healthy weight gain diet at 4000 calories.  If you were building a house that requires 4000 bricks to build but you buy 6000 bricks, you’re going to have to find somewhere to store 2000bricks!. If you eat 2000 calories more than you require, guess where they get stored? That's right - your GUT as FAT!!

So, not eating enough calories explains why many guys look the exact same as they did last week, even last year but eating too many calories can bulk you up with no muscle definition.

8:00 pm:
2 oz Cheese, low or non fat
1 cup Blueberries
6 Almonds, whole

14g P - 18g C - 6g F - Calories: 182

Total Daily Portions:
Protein: 175g Carbohydrates: 225g Fat: 45g Calories: 2005

Even though being in a caloric surplus is critical for gaining weight, you can still experience muscle growth by increasing the QUALITY of your nutrition before increasing the QUANTITY of your nutrition.

That means a 2000 calorie HEALTHY MASS PLAN will build more muscle than a 3000 calorie DIRTY MASS PLAN.  Does that make sense ok?  So this 2000 calorie plan might be the solution for you if you’ve been relying on dirty nutrition to bulk up.
